7.1.3 QlM Describe the facilities in the Institution for the management of the following types of degradable and non-degradable waste (within 200 words)
SITAM sees itself as an essential component of the ecosystem it lives in. As a result, SITAM avoids any negative behaviors that can jeopardize the well-being of systems that are close to it. SITAM is an ideal ecological system thanks to carefully designed building construction, plant life, and human support systems. To lessen its impact on both animal and plant life as well as human life, SITAM carefully evaluates the ingress/egress movement of solid, liquid, electronic, and other materials. SITAM sees itself as an integral part of the natural system that supports it. Accordingly, SITAM prohibits any harmful activity that can thwart the flourishing of structures surrounding it. SITAM is an ideal natural framework because to carefully considered building architecture, vegetation, and social networks that provide emotional support. In order to minimize the influence of the strong, fluid, electronic, and other entrance/departure stream on human living, SITAM also carefully considers fauna and vegetation. A brief summary of the important categories of waste administration methods used by SITAM is provided below.  Solid waste comes from various sources and is managed suitably: o The fertilizer pit receives the strong waste from writing materials as well as the organic waste from nurseries and yards. The manure pits vermin compost is used in the nurseries and also in the culinary garden for the wreck. Some of the veggies used in the disaster came from the supposed kitchen garden. o Solid human excrement is transported away from the septic tank, where it is successfully degraded. o The solid waste from the dairy animals on the property is used as fertilizer for flowerbeds or even a kitchen garden.

7.1.4QnM Water conservation facilities available in the Institution:
Rainwater harvesting structures and their use on campus are one of the things listed under this area that are present in SITAM, Vizianagaram. (Choice D). The institute has successfully put into practice a rainwater harvesting model to maximize groundwater recharge. Rainwater is collected, channeled, and directed to raise the level of the groundwater. In order to maximize surface runoff into ground water recharge, the entire campus is set out in three levels, taking advantage of the sloping landscape. Terrace runoff is transferred to bore wells via a piping system and filtering. Through the use of a sand filter, surface rainwater is collected and pumped into a well. A sizable pit was dug at the rear of the boys dormitory to refuel all of the bore wells there. There is absolutely no rainwater flow on the grounds of our college or hostel. The entire campus has adopted the rain water gathering technology, and it includes the following actions: a) Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting: This entails collecting rainwater from the roofs of college buildings. The system put into place is as follows: Rainwater collection from rooftops; conveyance of rainwater through water pipes, drains, or down take pipes; initial flush and filter using mesh to prevent floating debris, silt, leaves, or other organic matter; filtering through brick masonry loaded with pebbles, gravel, and sand; storage; b) Open Space Rainwater Harvesting: To ensure that rainwater percolates into the ground rather than flowing away from the surface, rainwater is recharged through various types of structures.

7.1.6 QnM Quality audits on environment and energy are regularly undertaken by the institution
Satya Institute of Technology and Management (SITAM), Vizianagaram Was started in the year 2011. Since then, it has grown with time. At present, the Institute runs 6 UG programmes in Bachelor of Engineering(B.Tech), Diploma in Vocation Course (DVOC) and 1 Post Graduate programmes in Master of Business Administration(MBA). Application with an annual intake of 60 . SITAM has an eco-friendly environment. It has a long legacy of healthy environmental practices including periodic plantation, their preservation and maintenance. Its land use is such that about 30 % of the total area is occupied by open land and plantation that generates a better and sustainable campus environment. INTRODUCTION TO GREEN AUDIT Green Audit is a process of systematic identification, quantification, recording, reporting and analysis of components of environmental diversity of various establishments. It aims to analyze environmental practices within and outside of the concerned sites, which will have an impact on the eco-friendly ambience. Green audit can be a useful tool for a college to determine how and where they are using the most energy or water and other resources; the college can then consider how to implement changes and make savings. It can also be used to determine the type and volume of waste, which can be used for a recycling project or to improve waste minimization plan. It can create health consciousness and promote environmental awareness, values and ethics. It provides staff and students better understanding of Green impact on campus. If self enquiry is a natural and necessary outgrowth of a quality education, it could also be stated that institutional self enquiry is a natural and necessary outgrowth of a quality educational institution. Thus it is imperative that the college evaluate its own contributions toward a sustainable future. As environmental sustainability is becoming an increasingly important issue for the nation, the role of higher educational

7.2.1QlM Describe two best practices successfully implemented by the Institution as per NAAC format provided in the Manual.
The FCAR is an effective reporting tool that is used to collect all relevant course related information into a single document • An effective documentation tool for the purpose of both course learning outcomes (CLO) and student outcomes (SO) • Continuous improvement at the course level This process begins with the development of Course Objectives and Course Outcomes. Course Objectives are general statements about the content of the course. Course Outcomes are statements relating to what the students should know at the end of the course. At the completion of the course, each instructor completes an assessment report for each Engineering course they taught. The report includes the following sections; Heading, Catalog Description, Grade Distribution, Modifications Made to Course, Course Outcomes Assessment, Student Feedback, Reflection, Proposed Actions for Course Improvement. Other sections may be included as each instructor or the Department wishes. These extra sections may be used to assess the “soft” skills required by ABET(Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) such as written and oral communications, engineering ethics, etc. and should reflect your institution’s Program Outcomes and Objectives. The Course Outcomes Assessment is the main section of the report and should include a quantitative evaluation of each stated course outcome. These evaluations should include examples of how the outcome was taught and evaluated. Finally, the extent to which the class satisfied the outcome should be stated numerically
